It started with a $900 mistake.
Before an overseas trip, our founder, Chloe Hardy, treated herself to a luxury fragrance worth almost $900.
Then came airport security.
The bottle couldn’t travel in her carry-on, and Chloe was forced to leave it behind. As painful as the moment was, it left her with a question she couldn’t shake:
Why should something as personal and confidence-boosting as fragrance feel so inaccessible?
Around the same time, the rising cost of living was changing the way people shopped. The desire for beautiful, high-quality products hadn’t disappeared – but spending hundreds of dollars for a name on a bottle was becoming harder to justify.
Chloe knew there had to be a better option.
About a year later, she began developing Dupes & Co.: a brand that could deliver the quality, performance and feeling of luxury at a price more people could genuinely enjoy.
Meet Chloe
Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Chloe Hardy grew up in an entrepreneurial family.
Watching her parents build a business from humble beginnings showed her what it takes to turn an idea into something real: hard work, resilience, sacrifice and the courage to take a risk.
Chloe started working at 13 and quickly developed a love for building, creating and working towards a bigger future. Her background in modelling, fashion and beauty later shaped her eye for product, branding and the small details that make an experience feel special.
But the purpose behind Dupes & Co. has always been bigger than beauty.
For Chloe, fragrance isn’t about status or the logo printed on a bottle. It’s about how it makes you feel – confident, put together and completely yourself.
